Virtual Handheld OSC Beta 1 Now Available!

VH OSC Beta 1 (2025-01-31)

Beta Update Summary:

This beta adds the first of the long-awaited OSC functionalities, including VRC chatbox to display the current game title, and a single avatar parameter to reflect the "On" state of the handheld. Note that this beta does not yet implement OSCQuery, so it might not work alongside other OSC applications!

OSC:

+Added OSC Menu

+Added OSC Enabled toggle

+Added OSC status/debug info text, including send IP address, port, and loop time for chatbox messages

OSC Chatbox:

+Added warning message about Window titles

+Added Enable OSC Chatbox toggle

+Added Chatbox Message toggles, which determine the contents of the message shown in the OSC chatbox

+Added Chatbox Preview to show what message text is (or will be) sent via OSC

+Chatbox will be shown if it is enabled and if the handheld is toggled on, and will be hidden if it is toggled off

+OSC chatbox will show the default message if the window title is null, empty, or if the resulting message would to too long for VRChat

OSC Config:

+Added "osc-config.txt" file, which can be found in "<user>/My Games/Virtual Handheld/OSC/" and can be edited to change OSC configuration such as IP address, port, Loop Time, and avatar parameter names (although currently there is only one avatar parameter)

Known Issues:

*Chatbox notification SFX might play even though VRC is explicitly being told not to

*OSCQuery has not yet been implemented, so other OSC applications might not work in conjunction with VH

*Stuff might break if you mess with the config too much

*Quite a few changes were made to the back-end that have not been fully tested yet, so expect things to break, glitch, or otherwise just not work!
